Poverty: Past and Present Recorded Live Webinar
Enjoy this recording of the MASSCAP Training Center's inaugural webinar. Two experts will help us understand how addressing poverty became a national priority and offer a research-based snapshot of poverty in Massachusetts today. David Bradley, Executive Director of the National Community Action Foundation, will present a history of the war on poverty and community action programs. Noah Berger, President of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, will review important data about poverty in Massachusetts, the programs that have worked to address it, and how we can build on those programs to achieve our goal of ending poverty. All Massachusetts Community Action Agency staff are invited and encouraged to participate.
David Bradley
For more than 30 years, David Bradley has been one of Washington’s leading advocates on behalf of low-income programs. In 1981, David helped found the National Community Action Foundation (NCAF). As a private nonprofit organization funded solely by non-governmental contributions, NCAF represents funding and policy interests of the nation’s 1000 community action agencies before Congress and the Executive Branch.

Noah Berger is president of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, an independent research organization that produces non-partisan policy research, analysis, and data-driven recommendations focused on improving the lives of low- and middle-income children and adults, strengthening our state’s economy, and enhancing the quality of life in Massachusetts.
