Everyone is a Leader: A New Model for Identifying Your Leadership Skills

Cost: (Includes lunch) $100 for staff of Community Action Agencies; $110 for non-CAA staff

Target Audience: Current and future managers and leaders

Important Notes: To optimize learning it is recommended that at least two staff from the same program attend so new skills can be reinforced through sharing in the workplace.

**Please bring and be prepared to share with the group an item that represents what leadership means to you. There is no right or wrong here. A picture, any object, a poem, book, letter etc.  Anything that represents why it is you have chosen to be a leader.**

Description:

The “leader within” each of us guides our decision-making in the workplace and in private life. It informs us how to work and play with each other. Conscious leaders have a developed sense of self awareness that enables them to stay open minded and curious, fully aware of their feelings in the moment, and able to take full responsibility for their experiences in life. Based on the “15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership” (Jim Dethmer, Diana Chapman and Kaley Warner Klemp, 2015) we call this “above the line” leadership. Conscious Leadership is a practical leadership model to help leaders become more conscious, take personal responsibility, and lead others in a win-win model. Are you “above the line” or “below the line” in your leadership style?

As a result of this training participants will be able to:

  • Become empowered as a leader by having your feelings vs letting your feelings have you;
  • Learn how to say no to blame and take 100% responsibility for the impact of your leadership;
  • Experience the leadership benefits of coming from Curiosity vs Being Right.
