10:00 - 11:00     An Overview of Five Agroforestry Systems for the Northeast: Alley Cropping, Forest Riparian Buffers, Windbreaks, Silvopasturing and Forest Farming; Dan Dostie, USDA-NRCS, PA State Resource Conservationist

11:00 - 12:30 The Ecological and Economical Benefits of Agroforestry; Ray Archuleta, USDA-NRCS, National Technology Center-East, Greensboro NC, Conservationist Agronomist

12:30 - 1:30 Lunch and visit exhibitors

 1:30 - 3:30     Field Tour

  • Examples of windbreaks, living snowfence and hedgerows
  •  Establishment methods: nursery stock options,  site preparation methods, post-planting vegetation and pest control
  • Native willow nursery
  • Hybrid willows for sustainable bioenergy production
  • Time of shrub willow cutting and planting trial for soil bioenegineering
