Do you want to learn to to do special effects like the ones you saw in movies like The Matrix, Spiderman, Terminator 3; or in commercials for Old Spice, Toyota, Honda, Sprite and others?

Join us for a special DSLR Boot Camp Level 2 event on June 25th where we will be making a high-end commercial using some of the coolest technologies on the planet!  You will learn how to achieve amazing visual effects with DSLR cameras in an on-set, hands-on film shoot.

We will be having two very exciting companies utilizing their technologies on June 25th.

During the filming of the commercialMocon_1, we will plan a motion control shot using a custom rig from Camera Control, Inc.

Motion control allows you to plan precise shots that can even be done frame-by-frame using stepper motors or linear motors.  A gyro-controlled head is where we will attach a Canon 7D camera.

Then, we will turn to Reel EFX to get fantastic shot using their Digital Multicam system.  Multicam is used when you want to freeze or slow down a subject and then see them from different angles.  Popularized by The Matix (where it was called Bullet Time), Reel EFX has been on the forefront of this technology from the beginning.

Multicam systems are designed with a number of DSLR cameras (up to 150) that are computer-controlled to fire at the same time in specific sequences. The corresponding frames are then gathered, one from each camera and assembled into motion footage.

The other shots for the commercial will be taken using a Canon DSLR camera like the 7D and 5D.  Bring your cameras so that you can take additional shots of your own.  Remember, we have a full crew and talent ready to go before you walk on set so all you have to concentrate on is learning how to film with these exciting cameras.

The Nun Who LiedThe footage shot during the Boot Camp will be editing into a spec commerical that all the participants can use on their reel.  Want to see a previous Canon Boot Camp Level 2 video?  CLICK HERE.
