PDPM: Nursing and Non-Therapy Ancillary

Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM) is a reimbursement model for long-term care facilities taking effect on October 1st, 2019.  PDPM will replace the current case-mix adjustment model. PDPM is budget-neutral and classifies residents into five categories: PT, OT, SLP, non-therapy ancillaries, and nursing. Regulations like PDPM are increasingly important because cost-effectiveness measures remain a central focus for long-term care facilities.

The target audience for this educational activity is nurses and nursing home administrators in the long-term care setting and other interested nurses. This is an intermediate level educational activity.
