About our future homeowner: Cottage Grove resident Misty found herself struggling financially after raising her children and going through a divorce. She has worked hard to rebuild her life, but has been unable to find safe and affordable housing options in her area. She currently lives in an apartment building made of converted exam rooms behind a now-closed hospital. The rooms are small and lack central heating, and are often overrun with rodents. In addition, because of the derelict buildings around them, drug activity is high and she worries about safety. She was thrilled when Habitat accepted her as a homebuyer!
