The Future of Engineering

Join us for a day with the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama and learn how they prepare their students to understand the complexities of the future in a world that is constantly changing.

Friday, August 3, 2018

7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The University of Alabama

We will get an introduction to the Center of Advanced Vehicle Technologies that is involved with education, applied research and industry projects. We will learn more about their two different exchange student programs with Germany.

The Integrative Center for Athletic and Sport Technologies will be sharing examples of their exciting technologies that helps reducing injury, accelerate recovery from injury and enhancing human performance. They will also so case their SidelinER privacy tent that trainers and medical staff use to examine players during games.

The University of Alabama is among the 16 institutions to participate in EcoCAR 3. UA Students will tell us more about this engineering competition that challenges students to create a car that uses less energy and emits less pollution. The students placed first in several contest categories. We get to see their transformed Chevrolet Camaro up and close.

We get to enjoy engineering tours and demonstrations before lunch. After lunch that is a great opportunity to tour the campus hosted by the Capstone Men and Women.
