In recent years, California growers have struggled to cope with recurring labor shortages and escalating labor costs. Added to this, the state’s minimum wage is set to increase to $15 per hour by 2022. Consequently, growers who traditionally could rely on the availability of hand labor in the vineyard may no longer have the option. This session will explore current and future opportunities to mechanize and deliver on grape quality expectations at all price points.
