Stats Can estimates that by 2031 one in three Canadians will be a visible minority.
So we need to do a better job of raising funds from our diverse and ever growing multicultural communities.
Each of our current fundraising methods is being challenged by diversity – from direct mail through event sponsorship, we have to learn how to reach out, build relationships and raise funds from, and with, our new Canadians.
The morning session will provide examples, explore case studies on different religious and cultural communities and provide suggestions to help you develop relationships that will help research diverse prospects, communicate in new ways, open doors and ultimately raise funds.
The afternoon will focus on building a major gift and capital campaign model to work within our diverse communities. Beginning with the case for support, and then tackling everything from volunteer recruitment, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship/ recognition – we will work through “lessons learned” and best practices developed in what Ipsos Reid determined is, “the most diverse community in the world” – Scarborough, in East Toronto.

If you are unable to attend in person or prefer to join us online, we will be webcasting this workshop live on April 18th. You will be able to see the video transmission, power point slides, and ask questions of the presenter, as well as chat with others watching online.
