THE AGENDA FOR THE EVENING:

Mobile, Internet-connected technologies have advanced the ubiquitous nature of media creation around the globe, making it increasingly easy to contribute photographs, recordings, information, and personal accounts of events as they happen. Facebook, Tumblr, Google+ Blogs, cell-phone cameras, have already had wide-ranging effects on how
society defines "journalism" and how we share and perceive information. As the new era of media moves forward, it provides an opportunity to reflect on what our local community, state, nation, and world needs from the institution of journalism. At this panel discussion,  journalism professionals will discuss what journalism means to them and to the future of a functioning democracy.

Following the panel discussion there will be a networking event where all attendess will have a chance to mingle with panelists, event producers and fellow attendees.
