Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  •  Understand the different court proceedings that involve the issue of hoarding, including civil injunctions, criminal and eviction cases;
  •  Be able to describe how fair housing law applies to hoarding situations and the reasonable accommodations request process;
  •  Under different approaches through case management and litigation that can help reduce recidivism in litigants with hoarding disorder.

 

Continuing Education

 This course has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 3.50 total CLE hours instruction. Application has been made for 3.5 (three and one half) continuing education credits for building /property maintenance inspectors (ICC), social workers, and registered sanitarians (RS).
