This session will review the concept of enterprise risk managment (ERM) and focus on one institution's attempt to implement key elements. We will discuss helpful tools to facilitate the risk assessment and mitigation and lessons learned regarding application and unanticipated benefits. [CPE: Specialized Knowledge ] 

ACCREDITATION UPDATE: CURRENT FINANCIAL ISSUES FOR THE SOUTHERN REGION                                                                                             Presenter: Donna Barrett, Director of Institutional Finance, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)

Current economic difficulties, new federal regulations, and ever-evolving accreditation standards can make it hard for a business officer to navigate the accreditation process. This session will cover updates, common problems, and advice on how the typical SACSCOC finance evaluator will view your institution's materials. The goal is to be better prepared and more aware of the implications of noncompliance. [CPE: Specialized Knowledge]

This session will present recent trends and developments affecting financial reporting for nonprofit entities, including an overview of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) project on Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities. [CPE: Accounting]
