8th Annual Transition 101 Parent Conference

Introduction and Overview of the Transition Process 

This parent conference is an introduction to the transition process in Rhode Island schools for families of students with disabilities  ages 14-21 who are entering or involved in transition.  This all day event is intended to have attendees leave with a better understanding of the following:

• Challenges and benefits of including children with emotional and behavioral challenges in the classroom
• Navigating the transition process from high school to adult life for students with disabilities
• The importance of self-advocacy in the life of our students with developmental disabilities 
• Options regarding guardianship and decision-making alternatives as an adult
• The impact on siblings of students with disabilities

With over a dozen exhibits and numerous workshops throughout the day,   the Transtion 101 Parent Conference is an event not to be missed!
