Which colleges & universities will be toured this year?

SCICU’s Campus Tour 2015 will visit; Columbia College, Benedict College, Claflin University, Charleston Southern University, Voorhees College, Presbyterian College, Erskine College, Southern Wesleyan University, North Greenville University, and Furman University. The tour participants meet on the campus of Columbia International University, where check-in and orientation is hosted.

What are the important dates?

• Campus Tour Dates:                           June 15-19, 2015

Who can register for the tour?

The tour is limited to current, high-school level professionals and college-level educational consultants. We appreciate the interest of retired educators and elementary/middle-school level professionals in SCICU, and we will gladly send materials to those who have interest. However, the tour is restricted to those who qualify. 

What recertification credits are available?

This aspect of the tour is overseen by the SC Department of Education. The tour is approved for 60 Hours SCDE Re-Certification Credit or 24.5 GCDF Recertification Hours (must have GCDF#). Any further questions regarding GCDF recertification should be addressed to Dorothya Nero (dnero@ed.sc.gov). The 2015 SCDE syllabus for the tour, attached on the event page, outlines the requirements.

 Who will be my roommate?

All booked hotel rooms are double-occupancy. Roommates will be randomly assigned unless a preferred roommate is indicated on the registration form. Request for single rooms will be considered on a case by case basis and will require an additional fee.

 How much does the tour cost?

The tour costs $200, which includes registration fees, meals, transportation expenses, and hotel accommodations.* The fee can be paid by the participant or by their institution, if approved by their supervisor.

 *Registration is not complete until payment has been received. Space is limited to 40 participants, so please act quickly to secure your seat on the tour bus!
