Starving to Successful Workshop 

 A One-Day Workshop Devoted to
The Business of Art

 
The workshop will be designed to help artists become more knowledgeable at presenting and selling their art and a guide to getting their work into art galleries.  This will be an all day interactive workshop with Jason Horejs author of the book "Starving To Successful" and Owner of Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Jason has 16 years experience working in art galleries and has been a gallery owner over 8 years.
 
Workshop Topics Covered:
  • Laying the groundwork to becoming a successful artist.  A broad discussion of the role of education, experience, subject matter and quality in creating artwork that sells.  
  • The importance of sharing your vision - creating your brand.  
  • Pricing your work with confidence.  
  • Controlling your inventory before it controls you.  
  • Marketing tools that work for you:  A discussion on everything from business cards, brochures and portfolios to branding and websites.  Special emphasis will be placed on making an effective portfolio and developing an effective website.  
  • A Crash Course in Selling Art: How to talk to customers and art collectors.  Emphasis will be on how to start a conversation, what to say and how to lead a customer to making a decision to buy.  
  • Finding and successfully approaching the right gallery for your work.
Fee for GSLAA Members $45  (After February 6th fee is $60)
