Application has been made for 3 hours in Area IV for psychologists and 3 Core hours for LCSW, LMFT, LPC, and CAC in accordance with the guidelines established by the Georgia Composite Board.
Though not approved by other agencies, physicians, nurse practitioners, and others may be able to apply these education credits under other areas of their licensing board requirements. Please check with your specific board's guidelines.
Prescription Drug Abuse in Young Adults
Michael L. Fishman, M.D.
During this session, Dr. Fishman will discuss various prescription medications commonly abused by young adults. He will also discuss the problem with online pharmacies, especially those out of the country. Dr. Fishman will present the potential dangers of drug interactions and withdrawals.

About Our Presenter
Michael L. Fishman, M.D. is a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of young adults suffering from addictive diseases. He specializes in addiction medicine and the treatment of nicotine dependence. After graduating magna cum laude in biology from the University of Georgia, Dr. Fishman received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he also did an internship and residency training. He is the Director of the Young Adult Program at Talbott Recovery in Atlanta, GA and holds the following certifications: Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, MRO Certification, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
