Workshop Description:

This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals, child development advisors, program providers or anyone who works with young people in group settings who want an effective, non-punitive discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviours.

Attendees will:

• learn how to create an equitable, mutually respectful classroom/group community through character education and positive discipline
• learn how to support young people’s social emotional development and in turn increase academic learning
• develop an understanding of the motivation behind children’s behavior and how to encourage positive change.
• learn how to facilitate effective class/group meetings while teaching social skills and problem-solving.
•  develop a large toolbox of kind and firm discipline methods that foster self regulatory skills and intrinsic motivation
• receive resources that provide a step by step approach to building a classroom/group community based on the above principles
•  and more!
