This all-new, two-day training covers both the fundamentals and the recent changes and developments that you need to know to stay in compliance with grants requirements.  By attending this unique event in New Orleans, you will not only learn more about the major requirements under the Super Circular and the challenges in implementing these rules but will also stay up-to-date with the evolving world of the Uniform Guidance and grants management. 

The training will cover the major requirements of the Super Circular for those new to grants management or wanting a refresher, but the conference goes beyond the fundamentals to explain recent changes and related developments for both new and experienced grants professionals.  Although the Uniform Guidance (better known as the Super Circular) is less than two years old, the OMB has already made amendments, including changes taking effect for 2016.  In addition to these changes, new concepts from the Super Circular are starting to influence Federal grants management (including subawards) and new challenges in implementing the Super Circular continue to be found.  These include changes to the audit requirements under the Super Circular and a slow make-over of the Audit Compliance Supplement, both of which are just starting to be felt.  Furthermore, recent court and administrative decisions and legislation are affecting grants management for both grantees and subrecipients.  As the Super Circular and other grants management requirements continue to evolve and grow, recipients (including pass-throughs) and subrecipients need to stay up-to-date. At the conference, you will learn not just the major requirements and recent changes in the Super Circular but also current developments in grants management and how these developments affect grant-funded organizations.

During the two-day OMB Super Circular Training and Federal Grants Management Update 2016, you will learn about the Super Circular's key requirements, challenges in implementing the Uniform Guidance, and recent changes to the Super Circular and related developments in Federal grants management, including:

• Time and effort reporting requirements (including the impact of the new FLSA overtime rules) under the Super Circular;

• Single Audit Act (Subpart F) audits, reporting, and resolution under the Uniform Guidance; and,
• Revisions to the new, 2016 Audit Compliance Supplement.

• Identify the unified cost principles and the challenges in implementing them and explain the key differences between the current, unified cost principles and the previous cost principles;
• Identify the changes to Single Audit Act audits and the audit reporting and resolution process under Subpart F of the Super Circular; and,
• List the revisions to the most recent Single Audit Act Compliance Supplement.

Early birds get the discount! Registration for the OMB Super Circular Training and Federal Grants Management Update 2016 conference is just $499 per person through August 29, 2016, and just $549 per person after the Early Bird period.  Cancellations through August 15, 2016, are subject to a $25 administrative fee, and all cancellations after August 15, 2016 (but before August 29, 2016) are subject to a $125 administrative fee.  Refunds will not be issued for cancellations on or after August 29, 2016.  In lieu of cancellations, registrants may substitute another participant from his or her organization at no charge.  Registration does not include lodging or transportation; you are responsible for making your own hotel and transportation reservations.  Space is extremely limited, and registrations will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

The OMB Super Circular Training and Federal Grants Management Update 2016 conference will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans French Quarter/Iberville, which is conveniently located on Iberville Street next to the city's world-famous French Quarter with easy access to all other major New Orleans attractions. Rooms are available starting at a special conference rate of $115 per night (plus applicable taxes) for the nights of September 19 and 20; subject to room availability, this special rate will also be honored for additional nights before and after the conference. R. Brian Tipton is a practicing attorney with more than fifteen years' experience working with nonprofits, governmental units, and other grant-funded organizations across the United States.  Currently, Brian is Managing Director with The Private Client Law Group, P.C., in Atlanta, where he heads the firm's tax-exempt and grant-funded solutions practice.  He is a summa cum laude graduate of the Louisiana State University and the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.  Brian regularly represents grant-funded entities of all types in the areas of regulatory compliance, audits, funding source disputes, administrative appeals, and litigation.  Brian also consults with organizations on governance, human resources, programmatic, and corporate matters, and develops and presents training programs for nonprofits and grant-funded organizations.
