About Doris Kearns Goodwin and Richard N. Goodwin:

Ms. Goodwin is a Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer, historian and oft-seen political commentor.  Her newest book, "Team of Rivals," has been released to critical acclaim in the movie "Lincoln."

Richard Goodwin
Mr. Goodwin is a writer who may be best known as an adviser and speechwriter to Presidents Kennedy and Johnson and to Senator Robert Kennedy.  A graduate of Harvard Law School, he also conducted an investigation into the quiz show "Twenty-One," later made into the movie "Quiz Show."  Now as a playwright, he has turned his attention to two of the most titanic egos of the 17th Century:  Galileo and Pope Urban VIII.  The Huntington Theatre Company in Boston recently presented the American premiere of his play, "Two Men of Florence."

ARLENE AND ROBERT KOGOD
About Robert and Arlene Kogod:

Robert Kogod, a business executive, and Arlene Smith Kogod are noted and beloved philanthropists in the Greater Washington D.C. area, and their contributions have benefited many educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations.  They are deeply committed to benefiting the local Jewish community and Israel, leading the Halom Hartman Institute, developing the Israeli Embassy, and maintaining membership on the International Board of Governors of Hillel.

Event Co-Chairs
Cathy and Dan Hodin, who are chairing the event, state that  “we will welcome the Goodwins and Kogods to the stage with a mix of awe and delight because these individuals literally wrote the book on productive aging."
