Join the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Pennsylvania, American Subcontractors Association (ASA) of Central Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Builders Exchange (PBX) for a timely session all about the ABI. The AIA’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) is a leading economic indicator of non-residential construction spending. Investment groups, media outlets, firms of all sizes, and business leaders rely on this leading monthly economic indicator to assess business conditions and predict and track the market.

This session will give AEC industry professionals a crash course in how to interpret and apply the ABI data for their businesses, as well as what the latest data is telling us about where the construction industry is heading as we approach the second half of the year with optimism as recovery and infrastructure investments hang in the balance.

PRESENTER:

JENNIFER RISKUS

In this role, she works closely with Kermit Baker, the AIA Chief Economist, and leads the Architecture Billings Index, a leading indicator of nonresidential construction spending, as well as the major biennial Compensation Survey and AIA Firm Survey report. She also manages a portfolio of internal and external research projects, and provides business intelligence to AIA members to help them navigate current business conditions and prepare for the future.

Jennifer has worked at the AIA since 2001, where she started shortly after graduating from New York University with a B.A. in Individualized Study, with a specialization in psychology and politics.
