KCBS Certified Barbeque Judges Class & Table Captains Class

On March 15th, 2014, you can begin the ultimate BBQ fanatic's journey towards joining the ranks of fellow Certified BBQ Judges and Table Captains! Waterloo, Iowa is the place and we hope to see you there!

KCBS Instructor, Dave Londeen will guide you through the proper means of judging competition quality BBQ. KCBS conducts official competitions at each event in the following categories: chicken, ribs, pork and brisket. A KCBS judge evaluates BBQ using three specific criteria: appearance, taste and texture. KCBS sanctioned events always prefer to have 100% Certified BBQ Judges and Table Captains to ensure judging standards are upheld.

During this class you will have the rare opportunity to judge world class competition BBQ prepared by the following:

Sams Club National Champion, Justin Glaun from Luckys Q
Iowa Chicken Champion, Big Chain BBQ Gang
Mark Scheel from Marks Smokin’ Que

Judging class will begin at 10:00 am and end at approximately 2:00pm

Table Captain class will begin at 3:00 pm and end at approximately 5:00pm

The classroom environment is professional and courteous, yet fun and entertaining. The class consists of about 50% instruction and 50% judging actual competition BBQ.
