Website FrameThis is a series of four modules targeted at the following individuals so they can create an internet presence:

  • Small Businesses with no web presence
  • Businesses with limited needs and resources
  • SCORE Chapter members so they can guide their clients

Following is an introduction to Website Design so an individual can prepare themselves for the work they will perform as they develop their own website.  This may take a few weeks, so to educate yourself and prepare for Buidling a Website, we suggest:

  1. Decide WHY you need a website - is it a digital business card?, is it to sell products?,  is it to support your customers?,  or all of these?.  Where does a website fit into your marketing strategy?
  2. Review the video:  "Tech Made Simple: Building the Perfect Website" on www.ebusinessnow.org
  3. Review the 'How-To" articles on the above site for your educational background.
  4. Study the website:  www.scoredemo.com which illustrates the use of the Web Builder software and illustrates some of the options you may want to use on your website.
  5. Research the availability of your preferred domain names you would like to use.  Study  www.eBusinessnow.org/how-to-choose domain-name-that-drives-traffic/.   Use www.godaddy.com to research names and extensions.  Try a Google search to see similar names.
  6. Create or identify the logo you want to use on your website.
  7. Review competitor websites to identify features you would like to replicate.  Make screen prints of these sites to help you create your content later on.
  8. Identify any unique or special features you want to use on your site.
  9. Play the video on:  www.intuit.com on website development
  10. Check out the tools and tips at:  http://google.com/webmasters.
