SCORE's 4th Annual
Women's Small Business Roundtable

These 4 monthly meetings give women who run small business the opportunity to discuss business issues and learn from their peers.

Meeting time: Third Tuesday of the month, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM. Meeting for 4 months starting in January.

Meeting dates:

  • January 21, 2020
  • February 18, 2020
  • March 17, 2020
  • April 21, 2020

Where: Meeting Room in historic Solomon Courthouse, 620 SW Main St. Portland. Coffee and light refreshments provided.

Time Commitment: Members commit to attend a minimum of 75% of the monthly meetings (Attend minimum 3 of 4 meetings)

Confidentiality: Members sign a nondisclosure agreement

Topics: Topics include time management/how to prioritize and "do it all," stages of business growth, social media marketing and financial management. Members may also suggest topics

Process: Roundtables are not lectures or workshops - they're very much peer learning. They are not 'tips groups' or networking groups designed to find new customers or clients.

Cost: Total cost for the Roundtable is $100, payable at registration. Cost covers refreshments and handouts.



Moderator: Marilyn Scott

Marilyn Scott is past Chair of SCORE's Portland Chapter, and is currently District Director for Oregon Chapters. Her professional background is focused on communication, employee development and organizational dynamics. Before assuming a management position at Intel in Hillsboro, her career included managing employee and organizational development for the American Red Cross Southwest Region in Texas and Oklahoma, and owning her own consulting business, MK Scott Consulting and Training. She has worked with many nonprofit organizations as well as small businesses. Marilyn has developed workshops on management skills, quality systems, customer service, and similar topics for a wide variety of clients, including government, community college and private industry.
