Seattle SHRM SIG: Coaching in Organizations

Networking and valuable education come together in our Special Interest Group!

All meetings are pre-approved for 1 HRCI Credit & 1 SHRM PDC.

Charter:  Developing leadership is Smart Business.  Discussion and learning will be focused on creating organizational coaching to develop current and high-potential employees to grow lead and succeed.

According to IC4P (The Institute for Corporate Productivity) “Essential to skill-building and knowledge transfer, coaching has become a prime tool for executive leadership development, performance management, and strategy execution.”

Developing the leadership capability of future and current leadership helps build organizational capacity for adaptive change improves efficiency in times of diminishing resources and develops capabilities for working collaboratively while fostering a culture that supports intra-organizational relationships.

Using case studies, guest speakers and group discussion this SIG will offer human resource leaders information about creating a coaching initiative, and ideas for developing the components of organizational coaching utilizing both internal and external coaches, including the HR professional’s role as internal coach.

  • What is coaching and how organizations are utilizing it
  • Case studies about coaching programs
  • Best practices in organizational coaching
  • Selection of internal and external coaches
  • Development of internal coaches skills
  • Tools to create, implement, and evaluate a coaching initiative

Guest Speakers are Human Resources professionals who have led coaching initiatives or are internal or external coaches.
