Announcement: Metropolitan Mediation Services is offering our highly praised 36-hour mediator training course in April-May, 2019 (dates/times on the left panel).  MMS Mediator Trainings teach skills that can enrich your life professionally, in your community, and at home.  Some trainees go on to join MMS' panel of volunteer mediators, an exciting way to serve our communities. The largest source of new mediation trainees has always been referral by those who have completed the program and our community of friends and colleagues. Please help make these trainings known to your colleagues and friends who might have an interest.

Who attends?: These programs are regularly attended by attorneys; social workers; educators; public officials and administrators; those involved in health care; police officers; business people; and consultants; retired people; community organizers and volunteers; among others. MMS has been providing these trainings for over 40 years. MMS' trainings are extremely well received.

What does it take to become a professional mediator?  Please read our
before applying to our training.

Is English a Second Language? Please review Required English Language Skills before applying.

Professional CEU credits: Social Worker CEU, Licensed Mental Health Counselor CEU, and Educator PDP credits are available. These trainings satisfy the training components  of qualification standards under the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Uniform Rules on Dispute Resolution and of MGL Ch. 233 s.23c.

Tuition and Discounts: There is a $115 discount to those registering and paying full tuition by early-enrollment deadlines (dates on the left). The early-enrollment tuition is $610.  Full tuition is $725. Additional "bring-a friend" or group discounts are available (see http://metromediation.org).  Linguistic, racial, or ethnically diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.  Some scholarships are available.

Help get the word out: Give your associates, neighbors, and friends ample notice in order to help those who are interested to receive the early enrollment discount and to plan their calendars in advance.  Please help us to publicize these trainings by forwarding or posting this information where those with an interest are likely to see it. You can help us by circulating this information to your friends, colleagues, professional associations, communities, email, or web postings. MMS' friends, colleagues, and past trainees are always our best source of referrals. If you have attended one of our trainings, let people know how rewarding you found the training to be. Please help us to get the word out.

Each trainee receives: Each session provides 36 hours of training over two weekday evenings and four full days. Apply online or by mail. Applicants are accepted on a first-come basis. Participants receive:
  • Binder of training materials, articles, and handouts
  • Copy of The Mediator’s Handbook (List price: $29.95)
  • Opportunity to earn continuing education credits (CEU, PDP, MMCEP)
  • Official MetroMediation certificate of completion (must attend all sessions)
