Black Belt Librarians: Real World Solutions to Security Concerns

Real World Solutions to Security Concerns will expound on the traditional Black Belt Librarians security and safety training.  During this half-day session, library staff will participate in:

• Examining how to set up your security / safety program
• Discussing how to approach patrons to advise them of rules in the safest way possible
• Learning when you should call the police
• Questions and Answers with Warren Graham

Additional time will be reserved for discussion, role-playing, and day-to-day tips to immediately make library staff safer.

A security professional for more than 25 years, including 17 years as the security manager of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Warren Graham left the library in 2006 to establish Warren Davis Graham Training and Consulting. Graham has made countless presentations and is a leading speaker internationally on practical day-to-day library security procedures.

The NEFLIN Expert Series 2014 offers insights from the leaders of our industry.  Designed to give library staff the ability to hear from national experts on topics of interest, attendees will benefit from extensive Q & A time with the speaker, plus structured networking time with other attendees.

NEFLIN classes are open to library staff in Florida only.
