Making Jazzy Journals, Expressive Scrapbooks (from Scratch!) & Books as Sculpture with Eliza Holliday
In this bookmaking workshop for educators, librarians, and anyone who works with children, Eliza will teach small book forms that are easy and fun. All materials and tools are provided, including the binding of the handouts into a book. Promoting literacy for kids or teens by encouraging them to make, write, and illustrate their own books, the emphasis will be on being able to make these books with inexpensive tools and recycled materials when possible. This workshop will include a multi-page journal and a scrapbook for the attendee. Bookbinding principles and terms will be taught, building a base for further study in bookbinding and book art. Dozens of fun projects for a range of age levels will be shown as examples, and you will have ideas on how to apply the book forms to your own projects, library, or classroom.
