Library Fundraising 101 - NEFLIN (08/04/16) 

Libraries of all types experience fluctuations in funding from their communities or parent organizations; often finding themselves needing to do more with less.  In order to respond to patron expectations and to innovate, libraries man need to develop new revenue streams.  One way that non-profits accomplish this is through fundraising, but many librarians don’t know where to begin.  In today’s world, successful fundraising could mean the difference between a library maintaining and flourishing. 

Learning Outcomes:

• Learn the basic steps of successful library fundraising.
• Understand how to identify potential prospects.
• Begin to develop an individual fundraising plan. 

Trainer: Anne Marie Casey, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Anne Marie Casey is Dean of Student Support at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU).  Prior to this she was the Hunt Library Director at ERAU and Associate Dean of Libraries at Central Michigan University.  She holds an AMLS degree from the University of Michigan and a PhD in Managerial Leadership in the Information Professions from Simmons College.  Anne Marie has participated in fundraising for libraries and other community organizations. 

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff.  Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
