Trainer: DeEtta Jones, DJA Consulting
DeEtta Jones is the CEO and owner of DJA Consulting, a firm that works with leaders to shape strategies for building and sustaining healthy organizations and maximizing workforce performance. For over 20 years, DeEtta Jones has guided people and organizations through the process of fundamental transformation. She has been a leading voice in shaping contemporary thinking and practice around integrated and sustainable approaches to personal transformation, workplace culture, diversity and inclusion. Her years of experience as a management consultant, diversity and inclusion educator, organization development and training professional have led to her being one of the most sought after speakers and consultants in her field.
DeEtta has been called upon to speak to audiences around the world on topics including women in leadership; diversity, innovation and leadership; and the power of vision to enable innovation. She brings a holistic approach to her work that stems from her belief that there is wisdom in many fields and breakthroughs live at the intersection.
Before launching DJA Consulting in 2005, serve for 10 years as Director of Diversity and then Director of the Office of Leadership and Management Services at the Association of Research Libraries, an international not-for-profit representing the largest research institutions in North America. In these roles DeEtta was called upon as a thought-leader to set direction for the design and oversight of more than 9 international leadership programs, as well as a suite of professional development services including training and organization development. Prior to this, she was Director of Multicultural Education at Colorado State University and Director of Human Rights Advocacy and Education for the City of Fort Collins. While in Colorado, DeEtta was instrumental in piloting the Multicultural Community Retreat and the passage of a city ordinance to make illegal the discrimination against citizens based on LGBTQI status. DeEtta has served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on leadership and diversity, at Colorado State University and University of Maryland, College Park. She also served as a senior consultant with Diversity Best Practices, a preeminent diversity and inclusion think-tank and consultancy.
DeEtta has authored two books and is currently working on her third, entitled Intention: Find Your Purpose, Measure Success, and Be Happy. She is regularly called upon as a keynote speaker, author and guest expert for various media outlets and hosts a weekly radio show, DJ and Da Bear: Keeping You at the Top of Your Game, with her husband, NFL legend, Richard Dent. DeEtta has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University, and an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University. She lives outside of Chicago, IL, with Richard and their children.
