Marketing Your Library: 2-Part Webinar (10/31 and 11/02/17) 

IMPORTANT: This is a 2-part webinar that meets Tuesday, October 31, 2017
and Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:30 am each day. You must attend both sessions.

This practical training webinar covers the fundamentals of marketing your Library as a whole, or specific services within it. It's not about logos and slogans, it's about your community. We'll look at the different categories of library communication, at how to open doors in your community, and at how to truly be heard and listened to above the white noise of modern life.  

Learning outcomes: 
  • Participants will know how to simplify their communications to make them more effective without losing the meaning 
  •  Participants will be able to segment their audience into smaller groups for tailored communications 
  • Participants will go away with the beginnings of a fully-fledged marketing plan, which can be used on a day to day basis to inform a strategic approach to marketing your service
  • Participants will have practical examples of how to spark or nurture Word of Mouth Marketing for their Library

Virtual Trainer: Ned Potter

Ned Potter is an Academic Liaison Librarian at the University of York, and a Trainer for various organisations including the British Library and Bodleian Libraries in the UK, and PiCS in Australasia. His book The Library Marketing Toolkit was published by Facet in 2012. Ned can be found online at ned-potter.com and on Twitter at @ned_potter.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
