IMPORTANT: This is a 2-part webinar that meets Tuesday, February 13 and 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM, EDT. You must attend both sessions.
It can be tricky taking on social media responsibilities for your org, especially on top of all your other duties. This hands-on session will help with that process, giving you an overview of the major social media platforms and why they're useful to libraries, and practical advice on how to prioritize, strategize and manage social media - either on your own or as part of a team.
Learning outcomes:
Virtual Trainer: Ned Potter
Ned Potter is an Academic Liaison Librarian at the University of York, where he also Chairs the Library Marketing and Communications Group. He has extensive experience in this area, not least because he's just written all the social media policies and staffing structures for his own institution!
Ned wrote The Library Marketing Toolkit published by Neal Schulman, has penned a social media column for Library Journal, and recently wrote a case study on Twitter for Ben Bizzle's book Start a Revolution: Stop Acting Like a Library. He can be found online at ned-potter.com and on twitter: @ned_potter.
This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.
Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
