Emerging Technologies and Digital Communications 2019 - 2-Part Webinar (02/12 and 13/19)

IMPORTANT: This is a 2-part webinar that meets
Tuesday, February 12 AND Wednesday, February 13
from 10:00 - 11:30 AM ET.

You must attend both sessions.

This webinar covers several useful online tools to help modern libraries communicate. They're all free to use, they all help solve existing problems, and they're all available to use right away (rather than being some kind of 'future trend' which is still a couple of years off...)

Tools and concepts covered include marketing with video, online publishing platforms, augmented reality, mobile and apps, and geolocational platforms.

Learning outcomes:
  • Participants will know how to present information online in and engaging and useful way, which works with the library website but doesn't rely on it!
  •  Participants will be able to generate ideas on how to use location-aware mobile technologies in their own institution
  • Participants will have several options for making effective videos about their services, with no need for cameras or expensive editing software

Virtual Trainer: Ned Potter

Ned Potter is an Academic Liaison Librarian at the University of York, and has presented at Library events across four continents. His presentations have been viewed well over a million times online, and he provides the presentation skills training for several organisations in the US, UK and Australisa.

Ned wrote The Library Marketing Toolkit published by Neal Schulman, and can be found online at ned-potter.com and on twitter: @ned_potter. You can see some of his presentations at slideshare.net/thewikiman.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
