Technical Services Interest Group Meeting (7/10/19)

Meeting Information

Please join us online, July 10 from 10:00-11:00 am (note the change of date) with our guest speaker, Deborah Fritz, author of Marc 21 for Everyone:  A Practical Guide. Deborah has been a cataloging trainer since 1989 and has been involved in the development of RDA as a member and then chair of the RDA Aggregates Working Group (AWG) and a member of the RDA Technical Working Group since 2015. Because of her work with those Groups, she knows a fair bit about the 3R Project (RDA Re-structure and Re-design).

The hour will be an informal chat about the 3R  (RDA Re-structure and Re-design) Project to modernize the RDA Toolkit, followed by a Q&A session.

Interest Group Facilitator:  Tim Keller

Tim Keller is the Head of Cataloging and Metadata with the Hunt Library at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University after relocating from Ohio. I have a Masters of Library and Information Science and a MS in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management from Kent State University.  I began working in academic libraries as a graduate student at Kent State University and have worked in a variety of academic and special libraries over the past decade. My professional interests include changes in cataloging and metadata, linked data and BIBFRAME, user experience design for technical services and librarians, and social media.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.

A reminder and access information will be sent out one week before the meeting and one day before the meeting.  Please email register@neflin.org if you do not receive your access information.
