Art in the Stacks: Art Programs for Youth Services - NEFLIN (05/09/19)

Youth Library staff will learn how to facilitate art programs that are designed to enhance creative development in children. We will have an overview of art material, techniques and projects that can be used with toddlers, preschoolers, school age and teenagers. This is a very hands-on workshop.

Highlights of the program include:

• Developmental stages of artmaking
• Creativity and how to nurture it
• Artmaking exploration through several mediums: oil pastels, watercolor, tempera, printmaking, collage, papermaking
• Project ideas

Trainer: Marie Escriba, Duval County Public Schools

After more than ten years of teaching art in a public library setting, Marie Escriba is now an art educator at Duval County Public Schools. She holds a MA in art education from the University of Florida and has years of experience training library staff and preschool teachers. 

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff.  Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
