You’ve probably heard the term “networking.” You may have even wondered, “What in the world is that and why is it such a big deal?”

In this one-hour webinar, you’ll find the answers to those questions. We’ll talk about what networking is – and isn’t. We’ll learn tips and techniques on how to network and with whom.

Some people would like to sit in front of a computer screen, submitting dozens of resumes to find a job or using social media to stay “in touch” with professional contacts. Although those activities can certainly lead to social interaction, they aren’t always as effective as we’d like in building our own networks.

For example, employment experts estimate that as many as 75% - 80% of the jobs being found today are still found through networking, not through plastering your resume all over town, and that includes “cybertown." And since people feel more comfortable dealing with folks they already know, networking can also help our libraries when we need to reach out and collaborate with others in our communities.

Virtual Trainer: Linda Bruno

Linda has been developing and conducting training workshops for libraries and other organizations for more than fifteen years. She offers workshops on topics ranging from Leadership Skills to Emotional Intelligence – and lots of areas in between!

Linda received her MBA from the University of Florida and has years of experience in hands-on management positions. She develops her workshops based on solid research and – more importantly – real-life application. Linda is also certified with DDI and Achieve Global.
