Technology Interest Group Meeting (8/5/20)

Meeting Information

At the upcoming meeting on August 5th at 2 PM, Alison McCarty, Head of the Jacksonville Public Library E-Services department, will be discussing her department's recent switch to moving in-person technology classes to an online format. The Jacksonville Public Library E-Services department provides computer and technology instruction to all ages throughout the Jacksonville Community.

There will be a Q+A after her presentation. Any remaining time can be dedicated to further discussion, new developments, and steps libraries have taken from a technology perspective to address the COVID-19 crisis.

Interest Group Facilitator:  Adam Chalmers

  

Adam Chalmers is the System and Digital Technologies Librarian at the University of North Florida’s Thomas G. Carpenter Library. He started his library career working for the Brevard County Public Libraries in 2014 and developed an interest in improving library technology. While completing his master’s degree, he started working as a Library Coordinator for Access Services at the UNF library in 2017. Adam enjoys the challenges of troubleshooting library systems and implementing new technology to ensure a positive library user experience.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
