Meeting Information

Topic: Readers’ Advisory and Book Clubs

NEFLIN’s Academic Interest Group will be meeting on August 16th at 2:00pm to discuss book clubs at academic libraries. I have some thoughts to share but I’d love to facilitate a discussion among colleagues looking for more ideas. Attendees at this meeting should come prepared to have their cameras on and microphones ready in order to participate. There will not be a formal presentation and I have not scheduled any outside speakers. Come ready to share ideas and ask questions! If you are running a successful book club please come and tell us all about it!

Interest Group Facilitator:  Brittnee Fisher

Brittnee Fisher, Ed.D. is a Public Services Librarian at St. Johns River State College where she has worked since 2010. Aside from her role as a librarian, Brittnee also teaches a Pathways to College Success course for SJR State that teaches new college students many skills that will aid them as they continue their academic journey. Brittnee holds a B.A. from the University of Central Florida, an M.L.I.S. from the University of South Florida, and an Ed.D. from the University of West Florida. She is excited to begin teaching for the University of West Florida this spring as an adjunct for undergrad and graduate courses.

Outside of work Brittnee enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering. For fun, you might find Brittnee with a book in her hand or spending time with her extended family.
