Virtual Trainer: Jennifer S. Pratt

Jennifer’s love of reading and libraries was cemented during her childhood weekly visits to the Carnegie Library in Bradenton, Florida. Jennifer earned her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in 1991 and has been professionally involved in libraries for the past 30 years. She has a strong reputation as a thought leader, trainer, and planning consultant in North Carolina and Florida.

Jennifer began her professional library career at the Haywood County Public Library in Waynesville, NC. Her responsibilities and leadership roles during her 15 years with this library system increased from Public Services Librarian to Library Director. Jennifer extended her leadership role with libraries in 2006 when she accepted the position as Chief of Library Development for the State Library of North Carolina. In 2015 Jennifer returned to her home state as the Executive Director of the Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN).

Jennifer is currently providing library consulting work and continuing education training events for libraries through Jennifer S Pratt Consulting. She lives in Chapel Hill, NC with her husband Jim and her cat Maggie. If she is not in a library, she can usually be found with her head in a book, playing with her grandchildren, or cooking up something in the kitchen.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
