Census Data for Librarians - Webinar (09/21/21)

Eager to help your patrons to look up population, demographic, and business data for their communities? Unsure of which data tools to use?
Or what data is available? Or how to access the data? Librarians certainly can use the help.

Wanting to build your data literacy skills to better enhance programs and services to your community? Librarians certainly can.

Census Data for Librarians will enhance your understanding and knowledge of Census data, navigating Census website, and equipping you with some research skills in using Census data tools, in particular, the new data.census.gov platform.

This webinar will include information on the recently released 2020 Census and how to efficiently use the data.

Virtual Trainer: Luke Anh Nguyen, U.S. Census Bureau

Luke Anh Nguyen has been providing Census data presentation and training workshops to a wide range of Census data users, including libraries and other organizations across the Atlanta Region (AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, and SC) since 2008.  He currently serves as a Data Dissemination Specialist. His work involves responding to data inquiry from customers, raising public awareness of, and participation in Census surveys and programs, especially the Decennial Census and the American Community Survey, and more importantly, in understanding and utilizing the many Census data tools.  Luke develops his presentation and training workshop based on customers’ needs and skill levels.

Luke was a native of Vietnam, and emigrated to the United States in 1992.  He is a graduate of Cornell University, NY in 2005.
