The next meeting of the Marketing & Outreach Interest Group will take place on Tuesday, June 28th, from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
Topic: Public Relations 101
Learn the basics of government public relations from Alachua County Public Schools Communications and Community Initiatives Director Jackie Johnson. Johnson has served as a public information officer for 30 years doing everything from responding to national media inquiries to spearheading five successful political campaigns for school-related ballot initiatives. Join us for a presentation followed by a Q&A with this veteran media relations pro.

Rachel Cook is the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Alachua County Library District, where she oversees marketing campaigns, advertising, and media relations. A lifelong library lover, she joined ACLD in 2019 after working as a director, sales manager, editor, and reporter at newspapers in three states and serving as a communications consultant in Cambodia. She is constantly learning from and awed by her library colleagues. She loves creating and testing new marketing strategies and tools. |
