Meeting Information

Join us on Friday, June 16th, at 1:00 pm, for our next Marketing & Outreach Interest Group meeting!

If your library is like most, you and your staff are pumping out paper promotions, and it might seem like it's never going to stop. If you're tired of seeing desks cluttered with piles of flyers, bookmarks, half-sheets and more, maybe with spelling errors, time changes, too much text, then you do NOT want to miss Pioneer Library Systems' Kelly Sitzman and Aiden Street at this month's marketing meetup!

As Kelly and Aiden say, "It's not about the paper, it's about the delivery." Hear how Kelly, Aiden and their team have been shifting staff at Pioneer (Oklahoma's Library of the Year for 2023) away from piles of paper to conversations, print-on-demand, and digital promotion. They'll share how they were able to increase active card use and market penetration, and had record-breaking summer engagement, all while reducing paper collateral.

Guest Speakers:  Kelly Sitzman and Aiden Street

Interest Group Facilitator:  Chris Boivin

In nearly 30 years in marketing and communications, there aren’t many marketing mistakes Chris Boivin hasn’t made, or marketing frustrations he hasn’t encountered. But he’s learned from everything and it’s taken him to leadership positions across several industries including health insurance, consumer data, grocery data, credit unions, and public libraries. As the marketing director at Jacksonville Public Library, Boivin and his team help library customers solve their problems so they can become the heroes of their own stories. To continuously learn more about and give more to library marketing, Boivin founded the Library Marketing Book Club (www.librarymarketingbookclub.org), is secretary of the Library Marketing Communications Group board, which manages library marketing’s premiere annual event: the Library Marketing Communications Conference (www.librarymarketingconference.org), and is proud to facilitate NEFLIN’s Library Marketing Interest Group.
Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
