Examining Current Cybersecurity Concerns: Scams, Malware, and Hacks - Webinar (11/30/23)

It is crucial for individuals and organizations to understand and mitigate cybersecurity risks. In this interactive course, we will explore current threats and discuss practical tips to protect ourselves, our libraries, and educate our users. 

Join Diana for a look at up to the minute concerns and issues surrounding life online. This session will touch on useful knowledge for both your professional and personal lives. 

Virtual Trainer: Diana Silveira

Diana Silveira Diana Silveira is a librarian and president of Novare Library Services where she works with libraries to develop, implement, and utilize technology effectively. Previously she worked at the Tampa Bay Library Consortium and the Charlotte Mecklenburg, NC Library. She has an MLIS from UNC-Greensboro and a BS in psychology from Catawba College.

Her book Library Technology Planning for Today and Tomorrow is available through Amazon and the Rowman & Littlefield Website.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.

This project was funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2022-23, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $688,109. 42% of the total costs ($288,109) are supported by federal funds, and 58% of this program ($400,000) is supported by state funds.
