A Jargon-Free Introduction to Library Marketing - Webinar (01/18/24)

This session will focus on how to approach marketing libraries in all sectors. Ned will focus on welcoming attendees into the world of Library Marketing by answering these questions (among many others): 

  • How do we frame messages so they have the most impact? 
  • What actually matters to our audiences? 
  • How do we keep things simple without dumbing down? 
No marketing experience necessary to attend this webinar.

Virtual Trainer: Ned Potter

Ned Potter is Faculty Engagement Manager: Community & UX at the University of York, and a Trainer for various organizations including the University of Oxford and the British Library. He has run library workshops across four continents, including with NEFLIN since 2016, and his presentations have been viewed over 2.5 million times online. His book The Library Marketing Toolkit was published by Neal-Schuman in 2012. Ned can be found online at ned-potter.com and on Bluesky at @nedpotter.bsky.social

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.

This project was funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2023-24, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $694,693. 42% of the total costs ($294,693) are supported by federal funds, and 58% of this program ($400,000) is supported by state funds.
