Treating Compulsive Sexual Behavior: A New Approach 

The Center for Lifelong Learning of Tulane School of Social Work will be virtually hosting Bill Knecht, LCSW-BACS to present Treating Compulsive Sexual Beahvior: A New Approach on January 28th, 2022 from 9:00am to 12:15pm.

Course Description and Objectives

Treating Compulsive Sexual Beahvior: A New Approach will prepare participants with a review into the history of sex therapy and treatment approaches using the disease concepts, an understanding in the dynamics of how sexual compulsive habits develop, and the learning of a new approach that utilizes habit cessation, lifestyle changes, and couples work.

This training is designed for Licensed Social Workers. This continuing education workshop provides 3 clinical hours.

A virtual reservation is $45.00. Tulane School of Social Work Adjuncts, DSW Candidates, Faculty, and Staff may contact us for discount codes.

Bill Knecht, LCSW-BACS has 50+ years as a clinician, trainer, supervisor, and program administrator providing therapy related to sexual treatments, mental health, and substance abuse since 1970. He is currently in private practice specializing in sexual compulsive disorders and couples therapy since 2009.  His previous roles include the Former Director of New Orleans Methadone Clinic and Touro Infirmary Chronic Pain Program and Former Chairman of ERACE (ERACISM). Mr. Knecht was an Adjunct Professor for Tulane School of Social Work, has been a Field Supervisor for both Tulane and SUNO School of Social Work students. Bill Knecht, LCSW-BACS is currently on the Tulane School of Social Work Alumni Board and is an alumnus of the 1973 graduating class.

2. If you choose to call in, please use the Zoom "Connect to Audio" option with your Participant ID.

3. Tulane School of Social Work is available to offer minimal technical support.

4. Attendance determines the number of credit hours to be awarded. Time will be deducted from the total credit hour(s) when attendance cannot be accounted.

5. If you choose to be visible on camera, please maintain a professional view. We kindly request limited distractions.

6. The evaluation is required and will be emailed the following week. Certificates will be emailed shortly after.

The reservation is $45. Please fill out the online form to register. Payments can be made via credit card.

When will I receive my certificate?
Upon completion of the evaluation. Certificates are sent manually and once a week until all have been distributed.

How will I receive the evaluation?
The evaluation will be emailed to you the week following the event. If you have not completed the evaluation after two weeks, you will be contacted by a member of the Tulane School of Social Work community.

Cancellation Policy
In the event attendance of the program cannot be fulfilled, please notify the department 24 hours in advance to receive a refund. A request to return reservation funds can be submitted to tssw_cll@wave.tulane.edu.
