CPI 2023 Regional Conference - Hilton Long Beach - Southern Counties, April 25-26, 2023

The Community Prevention Initiative (CPI) is pleased to announce the theme for the 2023 Regional Training Whole Community Care | Wellness in Unity. This two-day conference explores the intersection of Substance Use Disorder SUD prevention practices and the wellbeing of the overall community.

In line with national prevention priorities and current best practices in prevention science, this innovative training approach in SUD prevention will incorporate the knowledge of shared risk and protective factors, highlight unique skills and expertise within the existing prevention workforce, and align integrated care opportunities in behavioral health. The conference will further focus on social determinants of health (SDOH), diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness (DEIB), and shifting the perspective of trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) to include a focus on opportunities around healing-centered care and positive childhood experiences (PCEs).

The morning of day two is reserved for county staff and will focus on the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and substance abuse prevention efforts at the local level.

A post event networking session will be offered to participants following the conclusion of sessions and workshops on day one. This will provide an opportunity for in-person collaboration, networking, and planning for the application of local prevention practices.
