Mentoring/Education Domain Training 

This training is a Peer Recovery Specialist Domain training which highlights the knowledge, skills and abilities associated with implementation of the job task related to the Mentoring/Education domain. The training includes recognizing the characteristics of an effective role model, active listing skills, how to recognize when self-care is needed and the various forms of self-care, understanding the importance of maintaining the Peer relationship, Peer navigation, how to share experiences and conflict resolution techniques.

Trainer: Monica Scott–White CCDC, CAC-AD, RPS has over 10 years of experience delivering substance use treatment, recovery services and education to people with lived experience, allies and families.  

To make this an effective learning environment for you: Each registrant must have a device (laptop, tablet, or Smart phone) that has a camera. Cameras must be on during the training with your name posted. Please use a fully charged or plugged into electric outlet device and a quiet space that provides privacy for you and others attending the training. All materials (such as participant handouts) will be emailed to you. It is recommended you have paper and pens to take notes.

 Continuing Education Units

 

Peer Recovery Specialists – This training has been approved by the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral Health Professionals Certificate Board (MABPCB). You must complete a Behavioral Health System Baltimore evaluation form in order to receive your CEUs.

 BHSB CEU notice – BHSB will only award CEUs to trainees who complete the entire training. For example, if a webinar is offered on multiple dates, trainees must attend all days in order to receive CEUs.
