A 5 week program focused on building parenting and relationship skills for Indigenous families living off reserve in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.
The program aims to reinforce healthy relationships between partners, and between parents and children, with an emphasis on self-awareness, trauma and resiliency, parenting strengths, communication and working through conflict.
The goal is to give a new generation the opportunity to grow up in a violence free family. Group will be lead by two experienced facilitators who have knowledge in a variety of Indigenous cultures, teachings and ways of life.
Sessions will occur every Thursday between November 16 to December 14 from 5:30 - 7:30pm at the Family Education and Support Centre.
