Meet the Facilitator
Kate Saunders RCC
Kate Saunders has over 10 years of experience as a counsellor and parent educator, specializing in working with families and children who have experienced trauma. Kate completed her BA in Child Youth Care and her MA in Counselling Psychology. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC. She works therapeutically with individual children in play therapy and with parents and children together to address disruptive behaviors. Kate is a certified practitioner of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, one of the few empirically-valid treatments for disruptive behavior in young children. Kate focusses particularly on supporting healthy attachment and emotional development with all of her clients. Kate is currently accepting children, adults, and families in private practice
Sibling Rivalry Workshop
When it comes to child development, sibling relationships can be incredibly important. Siblings represent a child's first social network, and these early relationships provide training ground for social learning and relationship building. There are many factors that influence why siblings fight depending on sibling demographics, family dynamics, and unexpected life events.
Our Sibling Rivalry workshop helps parents successfuly intervene in sibling conflict with the right knowledge and parenting techniques.
- Learn when to step in as a parent and when to let your children sort out their differences
- Conflict resolution strategies to reduce aggression in kids and bring them down to a calmer state to discuss their issues
- How to effectively use the power of compromise to resolve sibling disputes while satisfying both parents and their children.

$40 for one parent, $60 for both parents*
*Fees are non-refundable. Included in this program is a free 20-minute phone consultation with an experienced Family TIES counsellor about our services.
