Dear Fragrance Friends,

 

Sniffapalooza's holiday events have become legendary, and for this year's celebration we've been dreaming of an interactive experience that combines extraordinary smells, tastes, textures, creativity, learning, and stimulating conversation joined together in perfect harmony. We have collaborated with incredible partners to bring our fantasy to reality, and it is with extreme pleasure that we invite you Sniffapalooza's Holiday Fragrance Luncheon at Mercato Trattoria, commencing promptly at 12 noon and continuting until 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 15th in New York City!

 

Our journey begins as we gather together for a welcome cocktail created exclusively for our event in the warm embrace of Mercato... with charming rustic decor of arched, whitewashed walls, vintage signs, family heirlooms, fresh flowers, and weathered farm tools inspired by the farmhouses in Apulia, Italy, the birthplace of owner Fabio Camardi. Mercato is consistently Zagat and Michelin-rated, and was listed among the 20 Best New Restaurants in 2010. It has become a neighborhood favorite, known for its innovative Italian specialties and a dramatic walk-in wine cellar.

 

We are thrilled to work with Mercato's Executive Chef, Emanuel Concas, who not only boasts an impressive gastronomic resume, but is also a fragrance enthusiast with a deep appreciation for niche scents! Emanuel was born in Sardinia, where he graduated from the prestigious Scala di Giocca Culinary Academy and joined Alberto Chincheri at the famed Astoria restaurant on Lake Garda. He later worked with Piero Vinci at the Bibis in Leeds, and continued to hone his skills at San Pietro and Settemoma in New York. Emanuel has also been the private chef to the founder of Le Cirque du Soleil and is a three-time winner of the Michelin's Bib Gourmand Award.

 

Also joining us will be special guest Francois Damide, fragrance expert and founder of Crafting Beauty, a private-label perfume house. We have teamed with Emanuel to produce a six-course meal influenced by raw materials and nine fragrances hand-picked to create a unique culinary and sensory experience. Accompanying the dishes will be specially-chosen wines to enhance both taste and smell. We have all worked together extensively to edit and refine our selections, building the multi-courses ingredient by ingredient, fragrance by fragrance, artistically melding taste and scent.

 

During the course of the luncheon we will present the pairings of fragrance and food, and Emanuel will talk about his inspirations in preparing the menu. The fragrances will be deconstructed, note by note, and we promise you will never look at scent or flavor the same way again! There will be plenty of time for sampling, sniffing, nibbling, and sipping, and Emanuel and Francois will be available to chat and answer any questions.

 

As a special holiday treat, all attendees will receive gift bags with samples of the featured fragrances, and a raffle basket filled with scented treasures will be won by one very lucky person! Additionally, if you fall in love with one of the fragrances or want to make some headway with your holiday shopping, you will have the opportunity to purchase at the event.

 

Due to the private and interactive nature of this incredible event, spaces are extremely limited. The registration fee for Sniffapalooza's Holiday Fragrance Luncheon is $85, and includes six curated courses, the best bread in the city, one custom cocktail, two glasses of wine (non-alcoholic options available), tax and gratuity, and gift bag.
