Introducing Innovative Technologies to Make Higher Education More Inclusive
The rapid development of new technologies is prompting educational institutions to assess their response to student requests for more choice in their learning. These emerging technologies are also closing the digital divide, making higher education available to many non-traditional learners for the first time. The increasing enrollment of these new learners and the common usage of mobile and other emerging technologies are requiring colleges and universities to re-frame their responsibility to guarantee academic inclusion.
This forum will present research on how cutting edge technologies can support academic inclusion. Topics such as social media, adaptive learning, communication devices, and other mainstream technologies will be discussed. Information will be resented on how to incorporate these emerging technologies in ways that foster diversity in learner-centered engagement.
